Ready to Roll

We had dinner with Terry & Carol at the Brazilian Steakhouse and it was great. Certainly not cheap but very good food. It was a nice send off dinner.

Friday was a very busy day. Ted left early to move the RV to the campground and I started loading things into my car. As soon as he called to say he had arrived and was set up, I went over. I had to make a second trip to get the rest of the things and pay Rebecca. It was nice to leave the house all spic and span. The rest is up to Chris.

Gerre & Barry came over to the campground around 5:00 and we visited for a bit and then went to the Mexican restaurant around the corner. We can sit and talk for hours with the two of them. We keep finding more and more things we have in common. They found another house on the lake which is even more beautiful than the one we first found and have put an offer in on it. I hope they work it all out.

We visited with Tommy & Susan this morning then came home to get dressed for Dave's memorial service. It was 102 today and certainly not conducive to getting dressed up but we did it anyway. I had the wrong Methodist Church in mind so it is a good thing Gerre mentioned last night which church was the correct one. It was a lovely service and we were able to tell his daughter Rhonda a couple of stories about both Dave and his deceased wife Elmira.

We went to the house to get the few things we had overlooked and then went to our own church at 5:00. We get a "two-fer" credit for today! Afterwards we fueled up and came home to have dinner with Tommy & Susan at their motorhome. Since Tommy's birthday is July 4 and we won't be here, we bought him a birthday cake and ice cream for dessert. We had a great meal and fun time.

We came in at 10:00 to watch the news. It is now finished and we'll be heading to bed so we can get an early start tomorrow. Destination: Texarkana or beyond.

I travel a lot; I hate having my life disrupted by routine. ~
