It's Warming Up!

We're supposed to be in the 70s this week and it did reach 78 today. I hope it stays around because we are going camping at Stephen F. Austin State Park with Jay and Stella who are workamping there. Susan and Tommy are coming out also. We're staying four nights but they may stay only two nights since they aren't retired. We leave Thursday and it will only take about an hour and a half to get there. Jay said he will save the site next to them first thing Thursday morning. We have a reservation paid for so I hope he can do that.

Last Friday we went to Wind Down and none of our close friends were there but I had a great time talking to people I don't normally see and some new people. It's good to move out of your "comfort zone" at times socially. Since we don't have business trips, etc. to do anymore, we aren't made to reach out and make new acquaintances as often. We had a nice time and I'm glad we went.

We went to church Saturday afternoon so I could spend Sunday getting ready for my bunco group due here on Monday. I had kept out a lot of the things I used for Canasta last week so it wouldn't take as much time. At least four of the ladies were coming back here for the second Monday in a row. I hope they didn't feel as if they had a bit part in Groundhog Day where the same day kept repeating!

We met Terry, Carol and Jody at Salt Grass Steakhouse Sunday evening to celebrate both the ladies' birthdays. I had a huge chocolate cake that the manager said was OK to bring in and gifts for each of them. Dave had to make a quick trip to Florida and was just flying back and could not join us. It was a very pleasant evening but they made me bring the rest of the cake back since I was having bunco.

When bunco was over on Monday I still had a huge part of the cake left so I took it to my neighbor for her grandchildren. I took the bag of candy too! They'll enjoy it and I won't waste the cake or be tempted by the candy.

I had my mammogram today and the gal said she didn't see anything glaring at her but of course only a radiologist comparing this year's with previous year's would know what it actually shows. So far, so good. Then I got my hair cut and highlighted instead of just colored. A new look to go with my "no glasses" scene.

Tomorrow is packing the camper day followed by Happy Hour at the country club. If Ted doesn't go to the gun club to shoot, he'll meet me there and we'll have dinner with Jeff and Connie.

Congratulatons to Scott Brown, the new senator from Massachusetts.
