My MDA appointment was eye opening. The hormone therapy pill I have to take for 5 years (30 months done so far) is giving me osteoporosis. So we are starting out with a pill, Fosamax, a pill that has been around for a long time. There are monthly and every 6 month injections too. I know the side effects can be bad so I chose the once a week pill that I can stop whereas you can’t unshoot yourself!
We had a restful night in a Comfort Suite with a nice breakfast but it was after 3 before we made it home from MDA.
Our trip to Carmine TX was cancelled due to our friends coming down sick and frankly we were sort of relieved. We had a funeral to attend Saturday, church in the evening and Ted had to work at the gun club on Sunday.
I was busy all day Saturday with mail, laundry, making reservations for our trip to Cincinnati and gathering all the documentation to renew my DL. When you hit 79 you have to go in person. Mine expires on my birthday when I turn 80! It will be good for 8 years. So it, like my passport, will be the last ones I will get I assume!
We leave next Saturday for Cincinnati to attend Dan Rogers’ funeral next Monday. He will be buried with full military honors. He was cremated and will be buried at Our Lady of Victory church cemetery. I am not sure if he is in the same wall with Kathy, Mike, Terry, Carol and us.
Here are a few more photos of our trip
