The Past Week

On Monday after Easter we headed to the Children's Museum at The Woodlands Mall but it is closed on Monday! So we let the kids play in the play area of the mall, took them on the carousel and then to lunch at Cheesecake Factory. After that we took a boat ride on the Waterway and then over to Rayford Crossing campground since we talk about going there all the time. The kids loved the tether ball in the playground. We decided to bring the RV over on Tuesday so they could swim. It was close to 7 pm when we got home.

Tuesday morning Ted drove the RV over to Rayford and proceeded to wash it, of course. We all went over at lunchtime, had a picnic lunch and then Kara hit the hot tub and the guys took the kids into the pool. I opted to read my book in the RV with my feet up. We didn't stay the night, just locked up and headed home.

Wednesday arrived and Sam was sad they had to leave. We got everything all packed up and headed to Green Town Park for the kids to see the storyboards in the maze and to just run around. We had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes and then headed for the airport. Once we dropped them all off we went home to gather our things and headed to Rayford. We were meeting up with friends from California and were heading out the next morning for Austin. After a dinner in Old Town Spring we were really ready to turn in early.

On Thurday we drove to Austin with our friends. The wildflowers are blooming like crazy. Bluebonnets, Indian paintbrush, primrose, Mexican hats, Indian blankets, etc. lined all the highways. We arrived with enough time to visit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Research Center.

Today we took a tour of the studio where Austin City Limits is taped. The guide was very knowledgeable and spent almost an hour answering all kinds of questions on bookings, recording sessions, budgets, PBS, etc. After that we went to the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum. After a visit here you are one of two things - a Texan or you want to be a Texan. It is just great.
